Barbara’s passion for photography stems from childhood. Her passion for photography is what led to a career change in 2000. Barbara left behind a successful sales career in the technology industry to explore life through the camera.|
Barbara’s photographic journey has taken her around the world. Her main influence has been photographer Eugene Atget (French, 1857-1927) whose work inspired her to live in Paris in 2001, where she produced “Paris Picturesque.” Recently, she returned to Paris to work on “Reflections of Fashion.”
In addition to Barbara’s fine art photography, she is a well-known portrait photographer. Her specialty is children’s portraiture. She photographs her clients in ways that reveal their inner selves and brings forth to the camera an abundance of life and personal style.
Barbara has received many accolades over the years; in 2006, she was selected by the Newport City Arts Commission to exhibit, “Newport Beach Reflected”, commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the city. In 2007, The John Wayne Airport Arts Commission selected this series to go on exhibit at a future date.
At the Orange County Fair 2005, “Artists Village VIII” from her Reflections of Santa Ana” series won first place.
In 2004, Barbara also received a first place award from the State of California, recognized by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for her black and white photograph of “Family of Surfers.”
Barbara continues to define and refine her gifted talents that reflect her passion for photography.
