The bright colors and sharp contrasts of the Caribbean & South Pacific, that were so abundant, caught her eye. The magnificent and graceful animals of Africa and Australia inspired her creativity. The uniqueness of the people she saw beckoned to be photographed and recorded. An avid traveler, Barbara continues to find new and exciting sights waiting to be captured. The digital photography world has expanded her medium yet again to include "Artography", digitally enhanced photographs, such as her new collections "Polynesian Paradise", "New England Waterfront", "Newport Locals" and "Catalina Classics".
A long time resident of Southern California, Barbara has relocated to Southeast Georgia. Her photographic experience and computer software training were at Orange Coast College, Coastline Community College and Learning Tree University including workshops, lectures and field trips. She continued her study of photography and videography with 'Picture This' photographers/videographers, David Howard and Robert Jones. Barbara has been showing her work since 1993 and has won competitions in the Orange County Register newspaper, at the Orange County Fair in California and won first place at the Sunset Beach Art Festival in California. She has participated at the Spring Orange County Artist Juried Exhibition in Newport Beach, CA; Balboa Island Art Walk, The Artist's Eye, and all-Media Juried Exhibition at OCFA Gallery in South Coast Village. Her work has been on exhibit at the Glynn Art Gallery on St. Simons Island, Georgia, the Showcase Gallery in Santa Ana and Peter J Gallery in Newport Beach, California. Her work is on permanent display at the Orange County Fair and Exposition Center in California. Barbara is a member of Orange County Fine Arts, an Association of Artists, Glynn Art Association www.glynnart.org and National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). Her work can also be seen on the internet at: http://web.mac.com/photoart4u Art for sale is available on various archival paper types (canvas, watercolor, photographic) and sizes, depending on the artwork chosen.
