Katy Byerts started to draw and paint at an early age, with a special interest in animals, people and the beautiful California landscape. She majored in art at USC, including a BFA and degree in secondary Art Education. She taught art in public and private schools as well as privately.

Watercolor and acrylic are her preferred media to portray the vibrant and fresh color she sees in the southern California landscape, seascape and in the flowers she loves to paint. Her passion for art stems from the love of color and all the life she sees in God's creation. Each painting is a new journey into the richness of color, light, form, shape and texture. Her hope is to create art that you will enjoy.

Katy has shown her art at the Mission Fine Art Gallery in San Juan Capistrano, California. She has been in juried shows at USC and the University of Illinois. Recently she has participated in art shows with the Niquel Art Association and the Saddleback Art League. She has also been painting commissions.
