As circumstances had it, she put her passions with clay aside to pursue a 25-year carrier as a dental technician and laboratory owner. Her carrier became the avenue for expressing her creative energy. In December of 2005 Magie retired.
Returning to her passion with clay, Magie began hand building ceramic Koi fish about 2 years ago. She finds that working with clay is a medium like no other. Each of her pieces is a one of a kind, with its own character and personality. Hand building Koi gives her a sense of inner calm, balance and peace, much like viewing a live Koi pond gives her the ability to incorporate movement and sound into her single pieces and sculptures. The development of the graceful movements, brilliant colors and jewel like qualities of Koi is an ongoing evolution in furthering her passion. Magie hopes that the viewers of her work will be drawn into the subtle movements, tranquility and beauty she incorporates into each of her unique pieces.
